B.C. Pill = Abortion

I remember back in the day when anti-choice arguments, as misinformed as they seemed to be to me, still kinda made sense - we think “killing” babies is wrong, so no abortions. Okay, I see the logic.

But now I totally don’t.

pills kill babies

So, ladies, here is my paraphrase of what the anti-choicers are saying now: Stay away from the Pill. Seriously. We know it keeps you from having an unwanted pregnancy and potentially having an abortion, but don’t even think about it. We have super sketchy science that PROVES that it also kills babies. So just don’t. In case you can kind of see where we’re coming from, we’ll confuse you further by also being against condoms and comprehensive sex-ed. We make so much sense, don’t we?

The FAQ section is full of really faulty (and probably totally made up) science. Let me sample some for you.

Q: How do you know when life begins?
A: It is a proven, scientific fact that when the human egg and human sperm unite, fertilization occurs and a new human being is created.

Show me the REAL scientist that says life begins at conception, and I’ll show you someone who probably never learned the Scientific Method.

Q: Isn’t it better to be on the pill when you
are sexually active?
A: Better for whom? The pill does not prevent you from getting a sexually transmitted disease, it is not 100 percent effective in preventing pregnancy and you could conceive a child who gets chemically aborted before the baby’s presence is even known to you. Moreover, sexual activity outside of marriage is seriously wrong.

I bet science allows you to make those moral judgements, huh?
