Campaigns

Choice USA runs and supports a variety of local and national campaigns that you can get involved with. Here are a couple to get you started.

You can also let us know what kind of campaigns you're working on and if you'd like Choice USA to join your campaign or highlight it on our website.

Support Emergency Contraception
Petition SignaturesThe approval of emergency contraception (Plan B®) for nonprescription status was a huge victory for women 18 years and older. But we can't stop there! Every woman deserves access to quality and equitable healthcare - including access to necessary drugs without embarrassment or intimidation. Young women under 18 still face major barriers to accessing accurate information about emergency contraception (EC) and encounter limitations and restrictions to receiving EC when it's most needed.

Advocates for Youth and Choice USA urge you to Take Action! Send a letter to your city or campus newspaper stressing the importance of access to EC for all women and urging health centers and pharmacists to make emergency contraception available in your city and/or on your campus.

Learn more with our EC 101 Fact Sheet, test your knowledge with our EC 101 Pop Quiz, and read more about Emergency Contraception on our blog!

Repeal the Hyde Amendment
Dessa and protestThe Hyde Amendment has forced women to carry unwanted pregnancies to term by excluding abortions from covered Medicaid services. Since the Hyde Amendment, between 18-35% of Medicaid-eligible women report that they would have chosen an abortion had funding been available for the procedure. Instead, the restrictions imposed by the Hyde Amendment forced them to carry their pregnancies to term. The Hyde Amendment creates a burden that no government should impose on a woman’s constitutional right to abortion.

Tell your Representatives that 30 years is enough!

Find Out More About Egg Donation and Women's Health
Bethan talking about Egg Donation"If you're a healthy woman in your twenties and you'rein college, your eggs are in high demand." Ads like these are popping upon college campuses across the nation. Egg donation provides the possibilityfor LGBTQ and infertile couples to form families.  At the same time, the egg donation industry iscompletely unregulated. Young women who may be considering donating their eggsare left with many questions concerning ethics, potential health risks, andpolitical implications. Choice USAand Center for Genetics and Society are interested in complicating theconversation in order to close the information gap that currently exists amongst college-aged women. Crisis Pregnancy Centers: Help Stop Deceptive Advertising in Women's Health Services

lobbying“Scared? Pregnant? We Can Help”. This is a typical Crisis Pregnancy Center ad seen on billboards, buses, newspapers and on college campuses. Crisis Pregnancy Centers are masked as “help centers” which pretend to offer a full range of women’s reproductive services. They exist to prevent women from having abortions and offer biased and inaccurate counseling. Crisis Pregnancy Centers spring up wherever there are clinics that provide real, scientifically accurate services and information.  For more information read the National Abortion Federation’s “Crisis Pregnancy Centers: An Affront to Choice.”(PDF)
